Chris is native of Ogdensburg, New York, a small border town on the St. Lawrence River, 40 miles south of Ottawa, Ontario. He graduated from Williams College with a BA in history in 1985.

Chris is native of Ogdensburg, New York, a small border town on the St. Lawrence River, 40 miles south of Ottawa, Ontario. He graduated from Williams College with a BA in history in 1985.

He then began his insurance career with The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (now John Hancock) in the fall of that same year, where he was a brokerage representative, helping independent insurance agents and brokers place impaired risk and specialty insurance coverage​ especially Sleep Apnea life insurance

In 1989, he moved into retail insurance brokerage with the San Mateo-based Link-Allen Associates, where he assisted growing technology companies and their executives with their employee benefit plans and individual insurance needs.

In 1998, he opened his own office where he continues to specialize in helping individuals, families, and businesses with a wide variety of insurance issues, completely independent from any obligation to any specific insurance company.

He earned the professional designations, CLU, and ChFC in 1988 and 1991, respectively and continues his education on an ongoing basis.

He was a past President of the Financial Planning Forum (Palo Alto, CA) and the Williams College Alumni Association of Northern California, a title he shared with his wife, Carol for years.

He was a board member of the Peninsula Chapter of the American Society of CLU, now the SFSP.

He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The Society of Financial Service Professionals, and The Financial Planning Association, where he is Director of Membership on the board of directors.

He lives in Palo Alto with his wife, Carol, who is a fee-only financial planner and also a member of the Financial Planning Forum and FPA, . and his two daughters, Rachael, and Samantha. Rachael was a Division 1 swimmer at UC Berkeley and is now in medical school and Samantha is a Division 1 water polo player in her Senior year.  Mowgli, the dog, is a sweet fluffy Bernese Mountain Dog and loves to greet clients at the office door.

Chris is also is a committed platelet donor at the Stanford Blood Center and participates in various community service projects with his family. He enjoys spending time with his family backpacking, reading, and travel.
