Action Strategist Judy Dang dispels the myth that happiness comes after productivity. Research actually shows this to be the opposite: put happiness first and productivity should follow suit.

When you start planning out your 2022, try starting with the blocks of time that make you happy.  Traveling, for instance. Schedule your trips first and block out that time on your calendar well in advance. Then schedule work projects AROUND the happiness blocks.

Block out holidays, swim meets, recitals, and soccer tournaments as soon as you find out about them. Even if those blocks are a year away.

Don’t wait until the last minute to schedule the things that are important to you and make you happy. Start with happiness and productivity will follow.
