The 2024 Earth Day theme, Planet vs. Plastics, brings to mind the Real vs. Fake, Authentic vs. Talking Points communications environment of today. Communication affords connection, but only if the words are true. Connection does not necessitate agreement, but rather understanding.
An open mindset offers the ability to agree to disagree and the opportunity for growth.
Algorithms that feed more of the same, and environments that encourage this “sameness,” can lead to stagnation. Closed mindsets stifle growth.
Might we save the planet by educating, communicating, and ultimately growing, appreciating the complexities?
Communication affords connection.
