In case you’ve had a hard time keeping up with Microsoft’s naming conventions, here comes another one…
First, there was the product we all knew as Microsoft Office. That was the brand name for the suite of products including things like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Next, it was renamed to Microsoft 365. You can’t imagine how much confusion that caused. As an IT specialist, I now needed to continually explain the difference between Microsoft 365 the product and Microsoft 365 the service (which includes Microsoft 365 the product).
Now, Microsoft has amped up the confusion further with an additional step. Microsoft 365 (the product) will henceforth be known as the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
