Andy James is the founder of Pilot & Rutter, an AI-native consulting firm that helps leaders turn AI from an expense into an advantage. He writes Soundings, a weekly essay series on AI, leadership, and organizational change, built on a contrarian premise: AI initiatives rarely fail on the technology, but on adoption, incentives, and management discipline. Before founding the firm he ran professional services for CDW's Digital Velocity organization, leading delivery across its six practices and 1,500 people, later adding its cloud practice and its operations. He has lived the product management seam, creating the function at a software company, doing the job, and training product managers across multiple organizations. He is based in South Florida and works with clients nationally.
