I know I’ve talked a lot about this, but everything that I do comes from vulnerability. When you lead with vulnerability, you’re going to get exactly that back from your employees with support and honesty. I’m an absolute believer in all that my team does for me, but it’s amazing to how supportive back they are of me. This all stems from unconditionally accepting and unconditionally loving them, even when I might be upset or even upset at them. Just do me one favor. Please be a leader that makes the changes and starts to lead with vulnerability. It’s…
Maybe we think that we have to still: ☑️ Lead by example ☑️ Keep a stiff upper lip ☑️ Not show any weakness ☑️ Have to be “perfect” That’s not the case anymore. We need to make sure that we are being as honest as we can be, to each other and with each other. We need to be able to lay down our vulnerability and grow in our relationships with others. Vulnerability can be a dear friend and we can embrace it, with open arms, and not be afraid anymore. I’ve been more open and honest about how I…

Welp…2020…you were a tough one.  No need to go into detail on that, am I right?! 😅 And 2021…well see what you got in store for us.  Will it be better?  Could it get worse?   But here’s the thing… It doesn’t matter.   Everything is going to be okay and even if it’s not okay…it’s going to be okay. A friend of mine on a podcast spoke about the human experience and it really refocused and reinforced my own mindset on life.  And here it is… You and your experience are unique.  No one ever in the history of the…
The old school way of management is on its way out. Bye, Felicia 👋 Now, what is the opposite of that old school way? Leading and treating your employees with love & respect ❤️ I truly equate this all to a more feminine energy. Being softer. Being compassionate. Being caring. Being nurturing. I can proudly express that I’ve led with this very energy with our own be the change HR, Inc. team. The workplace is truly awesome! But, that is truly created by leading and treating your employees with love & respect. Do you lead with LOVE in the…
There are TWO major things happening, right now, that I can tell you. 1. The Law is ALWAYS changing every 5 seconds, due to COVID.  2. We are living in a completely virtual world and having to find the best way to connect teams.  BUT, here is what I’m saying MUCH beyond that.  If there is an issue with employees right now and there isn’t much trust in them, then this is a symptom much larger than just working in a virtual world.  The questions is, “What kind of culture was established in the past, that is causing the…
Written by Lee R. Goldberg, Esq. Of Counsel – Ford & Diulio, P.C.lgoldberg@forddiulio.com December 3, 2020               In my last General Counsel Corner I wrote about the legal requirements to comply with California’s anti-sexual harassment training laws, and if taken in earnest, the extraordinary benefits to a company’s culture and bottom line. In this year-end edition of General Counsel Corner, and in the spirit of the holiday season, I expand on that theme.             It’s ok to acknowledge that this has been a difficult year for most, full of personal, emotional, financial, and business challenges. The one…
Employees are definitely scared of going back into the office. I’ve spent the back half of 2020 traveling across the country and let me tell you… everyone is different in how they are approaching going back into the office. Everyone’s attitude about it is different! I highly encourage that managers should be talking with their employees, one-on-one, to get a true understanding of where everyone is at with going back into the office. The more you know, the more you can truly understand where everyone is at. There has to be a plan for getting everyone back into the…
One of the most important functions of HR Management is handling the departure of an employee. AKA “The Exit Interview” The goal is to explore reasons why the relationship is ending in order to identify possible improvements to the organization. BUT, we should be identifying these improvements from the moment a new employee walks in the door and the whole time they are employed! ⭐️ This vital information is key to implement changes that: ✅ Improve the efficiency of operations ✅ Introduce new incentive programs ✅ Improve overall employee happiness ✅ Maintain high employee retention The more data that…
