I’m fond of the writing of Edgar Allan Poe and recently revisited The Fall of the House of Usher – a short story assigned in school to introduce us to the short-story form, symbolism and setting.
Here’s the first paragraph:
“During the whole of a dull, dark, and soundless day in the autumn of the year, when the clouds hung
