Mandana Dayani, an entrepreneur, attorney and social activist who could probably have just about any job she wants. She’s had high profile positions in fashion, entertainment, and technology (including a major role in Rachel Zoe’s fashion brand). Mandana co-founded I am a voter.® It is a nonpartisan movement that aims to create a cultural shift around voting and civic engagement by unifying people around a central truth: Our democracy works best when we all participate. We discuss her new podcast Dissenters (named in homage to Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s use of the line, “I dissent”) which she co-hosts with actor, philanthropist and global icon Debra Messing. Benjy and Mandana also discuss how anger is motivating, and how even the “smartest” people in the room often have no idea what they are doing (meaning that there’s no reason for you not to be in the room regardless of whether you feel like you belong). Benjy and Mandana close out the episode with their Deals and Legal Tips of the Week.
