As you may be aware, support for Microsoft Windows 10 and extended support for Office 2019 will both end this October.

Devices running these programs will still function as before — but they will no longer be provided with any security updates.

How important is it to upgrade before the deadline? File this one under “absolutely critical.”

Once the deadline has passed, Internet-connected devices that have not been upgraded will be increasingly vulnerable to hacks, malware, viruses, and more.

Note that based on minimum hardware requirements, some computers running Windows 10 are capable of upgrading to Windows 11. Others are not. Microsoft offers a free “PC Health Check app” to see if yours qualifies. More information here.
